Catch Up and Saved Views

Two read-only ways to look at your contacts: catch up on what changed while you were away, or save a slice you want to reuse.

Applies to Ins Autopilot 3.22 and later · Updated 2026-10-17

Two different questions

When you come back to Ins Autopilot after a break, you usually ask one of two questions. The first is "what happened while I was away?" The second is "show me my slice again — the same set of contacts I was working through last week."

Catch Up answers the first. Saved Views answer the second. Neither one changes anything: both are ways of looking, not ways of acting.

What Catch Up is for

Catch Up is the return path. It is there for the moment you open the extension after being away, so you can see what moved in your contact records rather than clicking through people one at a time.

Use the Catch Up entry when you have been out of the extension for a while and want a summary of change first, and decisions second. It gathers the recent movement so you can catch up in one pass, then go into the specific contacts you care about.

Catch Up does not decide anything for you and it does not act on the contacts it shows. If you want to see the full story behind one entry, open that contact's Activity timeline.

Catch Up is a review surface. Nothing you read there sends a message, follows anyone, or changes qualification.

What Saved Views are

A Saved View stores the filter combination you are currently looking at, so you can come back to it later instead of rebuilding it from scratch every session.

The idea is simple: set up the slice you keep needing — a qualification state, a set of outcomes, an account you are working from — and keep it. Next time you want that slice, you open it instead of re-entering the same filters.

A Saved View is your definition, not a recommendation. The extension does not suggest which views you should keep.

  • Saved Views preserve the filters, not the results. When the underlying contacts change, opening the same view shows the current state of that slice.
  • Saving a view does not copy contacts anywhere. It stores the definition of the filter.
  • Deleting a saved view only removes the definition. No contact record is affected.

How this differs from Today

Today is about now: who deserves your attention in this session. It surfaces a small, fixed set of reasons — Replied, Delivery needs review, Follow-up reminder is due, Sequence follow-up step is due, and Opened your tracked link — one card per contact, with a primary and sometimes a secondary reason. Today is curated for you and it never sends anything directly; its buttons only navigate.

Catch Up is about the recent past: what changed while you were away.

Saved Views are about your own definition: the slice you chose and want again.

So Today answers "who should I look at now", Catch Up answers "what did I miss", and Saved Views answer "show me my slice". If a contact is worth acting on, Today is usually where you will notice it. If you want to work through a specific set of people, build the slice and save it.

Working with them

  1. Set the filters you actually use — open Relationships and narrow it down until the list matches the slice you keep needing.
  2. Save the combination — use the save action next to the current filter set and give it a name you will recognize later.
  3. Reuse it instead of rebuilding it — next session, open the saved view rather than re-entering every filter by hand.
  4. Use Catch Up when you have been away — start there to see recent movement, then open individual contacts to read their Activity timeline.
  5. Go to Today when you want a priority list — Catch Up and Saved Views help you look; Today is where the extension tells you what needs attention now.

What these do not do

  • Both are read-only. Neither Catch Up nor a Saved View sends a DM, follows anyone, records an outcome or changes qualification.
  • Neither one takes action on your behalf or runs in the background while you are away. They summarize and organize what is already in your records.
  • A saved view is not a segment you can send to. Saving a filter does not create an audience for outreach — you still select recipients explicitly in Outreach.
  • Catch Up reflects what was recorded. If Instagram never confirmed an event, there is nothing to catch up on for that event.

If something looks missing, check the contact's Activity timeline before assuming a problem. The timeline is the record of truth.

Common questions

I was away for two weeks. Will Catch Up send the follow-ups that were due?
No. Catch Up only shows you what happened. Nothing is sent because you were absent, and nothing is sent from that screen.
My saved view is empty now.
A view stores the filter, not a snapshot of results. If no contact currently matches, the view is empty. That is the correct state, not a bug.
Can I share a saved view with a teammate?
No. Saved Views are local to your browser, and the ledger itself is isolated per Instagram account.
Should I use Catch Up or Today first?
After a long absence, start with Catch Up to see what changed, then open Today to decide what to do about it.
