Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before installing Ins Autopilot — pricing, account safety, privacy, targeting, DMs, the AI draft flow and refunds.
Is Ins Autopilot free?
Yes. The free plan gives 10 follows, unfollows and likes per day per action type — the quota renews daily and no credit card is required. Comment and DM outreach are PRO features. PRO raises the caps to 200 or 250 follows, unfollows and likes per day, and adds 30 or 50 comments and DMs per day, at $29/month or $249/year (about $20.75/month), plus Safe List snapshot protection, all advanced filters, adjustable sliders and priority support.
Is it safe to auto follow and unfollow on Instagram?
Ins Autopilot is built around safety-first automation: human-like 4–15 second random delays, automatic cool-down breaks, hard daily limits you control, and automatic back-off when Instagram starts refusing actions. Automation always carries some risk, so start with conservative limits and increase gradually. Instagram's own wording on what a restriction can mean: “it may lead to account restrictions and limitations, such as certain features you can no longer use, or your account being taken down.” (Check your Account Status on Instagram)
Do I need to give you my Instagram password?
No. Ins Autopilot never asks for your Instagram password. It uses your existing browser session and reads the Instagram profiles, follower lists, comments and messages needed for the tasks you configure locally. This content is not uploaded to Ins Autopilot servers; our services receive account identifiers and the device, usage, license, billing and support data described in our privacy policy. Optional tracked links send the destination URL and an opaque contact reference to our servers and record link opens. If you enable AI Draft and request a draft, your instructions and selected context go directly to your chosen AI provider, including conversation excerpts only when you choose to include them. Your AI key stays in your browser. See our privacy policy for details.
How does auto follow choose who to follow?
You pick the audience. Target any profile's followers or following list, or any post's likers or commenters. Smart filters refine by min/max followers, following and profile picture — and it never follows the same account twice.
Can I unfollow only people who don't follow me back?
Yes. Enable Skip Mutual Followers and auto unfollow only removes accounts that don't follow you back. Add anyone to a Safe List, require manual confirmation, and skip accounts followed within the last 7 days.
Does it send DMs and reply to comments, or is that still coming?
Both are live, not upcoming — on PRO plans. Outreach has its own tab with four tools: Direct Message sends one message to one account; Bulk DM Queue works through a recipient list with a random min/max delay between sends; Comment replies to Reels comments that match a keyword you set; and Monitor tracks new followers, new likers and DM replies, with optional auto-DM templates. History shows every send and its status. DM and comment caps are counted separately from follows, unfollows and likes, and are not part of the free plan.
Which browsers are supported?
Ins Autopilot is a Manifest V3 extension for Google Chrome, installed from the Chrome Web Store. It also works on Chromium browsers like Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera.
Does the AI write and send my DMs for me?
It only writes drafts — it never sends anything. AI Draft is off until you turn it on in the extension settings, where you choose a provider and paste your own API key; that address and key are kept locally in your browser and we have no way to read them. When you ask for a draft, the request goes straight from your browser to the model you configured, optionally including the last few messages of that conversation as context if you tick them. The text arrives in an editable box and stays a draft — nothing is sent to Instagram on your behalf, and pressing Send DM is always your own action.
What is the Relationships ledger, and is it uploaded anywhere?
The Relationships ledger is stored locally in your browser, separately for each Instagram account. It records contacts, sources, follow and DM status, waiting time, and outcomes you enter. The ledger itself is not uploaded to Ins Autopilot servers. If you explicitly create a tracked link, our servers receive its destination URL and an opaque contact reference and store open timestamps and counts; they do not receive the contact's Instagram ID or the full ledger. Account, device, usage and license data still sync for plan access and quotas, as described in our privacy policy. You can protect a contact from the ledger, and protected contacts are never queued for removal. See our privacy policy for details.
How do cancellations and refunds work?
Monthly and Annual plans renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal but does not automatically refund the current paid period. Refund requests are reviewed individually; start from the extension under PRO → Request a refund. If approved, paid access may end immediately and the approved amount returns to the original payment method. Your statutory consumer rights are not limited.

Chrome Web Store reviewer: full testing guide
Ins Autopilot is a workflow assistant for the reviewer's OWN Instagram account. Instagram interaction workflows run in the reviewer's browser, using the Instagram session already signed in there. Instagram login credentials are never sent to us.
Tracked-link click events are recorded by our tracking service, and optional AI requests go directly to the AI provider the user configured. Billing is hosted on insautopilot.com and Stripe; the extension never handles card details.
Please sign in at https://www.instagram.com with a reviewer-owned test account, then click the Ins Autopilot toolbar icon to open the side panel. A second account you own can be the target.
WHERE TO FIND EACH AREA (left rail of the panel, in order)
- Follow - build a target list (followers / following / likers / commenters, or paste usernames) and run follows.
- Unfollow - unfollow runs; the Safe List and a confirmation dialog appear before anything is removed.
- Likes - like runs and filters.
- Outreach - direct messages: queue a message, watch each sending task, create a Tracked link ("Track link" row), and see follow-up queue items.
- Cleanup - Repost Cleanup: open Your activity → Reposts, scan your reposts, review the automatically selected list, adjust it if needed, then confirm. Reposts are removed one at a time, with verification after each removal.
- Relationships - contacts: notes, qualification fields, outcome, conversion journey, "Saved segments", and "Catch Up" (reads the comments under your own posts).
- Insights - five read-only views: Inbox, Opportunities, Follow-up, Sources, Delivery.
- Stats - activity counters and CSV export.
- Accounts - the "Get started" checklist, the per-account overview, and plan / quota details.
WHAT IS SAFE TO OPEN WITHOUT SENDING ANYTHING
- Insights and the account overview are read-only: they never queue, follow or send anything.
- Scanning Catch Up and viewing its breakdown is read-only. Result-row actions such as Add to Relationships or Queue message only act when the reviewer explicitly clicks them.
- Viewing Relationships or applying a saved segment sends nothing to Instagram. A saved segment stores a filter, never a copy of your contacts.
- Editing notes, qualification fields or outcomes, and saving a segment, only updates local relationship or filter data and never triggers an Instagram action.
- Repost Cleanup scans first and removes nothing while scanning. After a removal click, the extension performs a post-scan and only treats the item as removed when that exact item can no longer be found.
- "Create tracked link" sends nothing: it only creates the link and shows it back to the reviewer.
HOW SENDING WORKS (who starts what)
DMs are never initiated from an unknown recipient or from generated content. The reviewer explicitly chooses the recipient and confirms the message or the follow-up steps before they enter the sending queue. Once the reviewer starts a confirmed queue or a follow-up sequence, those pre-confirmed items may run according to the configured schedule. Stop on Reply prevents later follow-up steps after a reply is observed.
- Follow / Unfollow / Likes / DM runs only do what the reviewer starts, within the daily limits they set. The Safe List keeps chosen accounts out of unfollow runs.
AI IS OPTIONAL
AI Draft lives inside the Pro Outreach panel and also needs your own AI provider. It stays off until turned on; every screen works without one. If connected, the request goes from the browser straight to the provider you configured - it never passes through our servers.
AI qualification suggestions are optional and are only applied after the reviewer explicitly accepts them; the AI never sends a message and never writes a qualification into a contact record on its own.
PRO AREAS (listed in the PRO panel; no purchase is needed to review the extension)
AI Draft (inside the Pro Outreach panel), saved segments, Track link and its reports, the Insights views beyond Inbox, CSV export, and higher daily limits. Both plans use one-at-a-time Cleanup.
HOW TO OBSERVE ATTRIBUTION WITHOUT FABRICATING A CLICK
1. Outreach -> "Track link" row: enter a destination URL, optionally pick a contact under "Linked to contact", then press "Create tracked link".
2. Open that link in a new browser tab yourself. The count comes from our tracking service observing the short link being opened; "Insert into draft" only fills the message box, and a click is never counted as a reply, a qualification or a booking.
3. Read the result in Insights -> Sources and in the per-account figures on Accounts. Anything that cannot be computed shows "Unavailable" - never as a made-up zero.
The extension never starts an engagement, cleanup, follow/unfollow, or messaging workflow without explicit user action. Once the user starts a configured run or a confirmed queue, the extension executes that selected workflow within its configured limits and safety checks.
