How to read a contact's Activity timeline
Activity is a plain record of what happened with one contact. Here are the seven entries you can see and what they do not mean.
What the Activity timeline is
Open any contact in Relationships and the Activity panel shows what Ins Autopilot actually observed while working from your signed-in Instagram session. It is a record, not a score.
Every line is one fact with a fixed label and, when the time could be read, a timestamp. You read it top to bottom and you see the history of that one contact — nothing more.
The seven entries you can see
- Found — the contact was collected by a search or targeting run.
- Followed — the extension pressed Follow and Instagram accepted it.
- DM sent — a direct message was confirmed as sent.
- Replied — a reply from the contact was read from the thread.
- Qualification updated — you changed the qualification fields for this contact.
- Opened tracked link — a tracked link shared with this contact recorded a click.
- Outcome updated — you recorded or changed the final outcome.
These seven labels are fixed. If you do not see an entry, that event was not recorded — not that it happened and was hidden from you.
Newest first, and never twice
Entries are listed newest to oldest, so the top of the panel is the most recent thing that happened.
The ledger does not duplicate. One event produces one entry. Reopening the contact, re-rendering the panel or reloading the extension does not add a second copy of something that already happened.
If you send two separate messages to the same person, that is two events and you see two entries. One message that you look at three times is still one entry.
This is not an inference engine
The timeline reports events. It does not guess intent, and it never turns an event into a judgement about the person.
Opened tracked link means a click was recorded. It does not mean the contact is interested, and it does not mean they are qualified, booked or ready to buy. A click can come from a preview, a mis-tap, or someone scrolling past.
Replied means a reply was read from the thread. It does not mean the contact is qualified, and it does not mean they want what you are offering. Whether a reply makes someone a fit is your call, not the extension's.
Followed means the follow went through. That is not a signal of interest either — plenty of people follow accounts they never read.
Nothing on this panel promotes, demotes or re-scores a contact. Qualification changes only when you change it.
Read the timeline as evidence of activity, never as evidence of intent.
When an entry has no time
Some entries carry no timestamp. That happens when the time could not be read reliably from the page. The entry is still shown with its label, and the time is simply left off.
The extension does not invent a time, and it does not use the moment it noticed the entry as if that were the moment it happened. If no time is shown, do not assume one.
A missing time is a gap in the record, not a clue. Do not read an order into entries that have no time.
What the timeline does not do
- It does not send anything. Reading Activity never triggers a follow, a DM or a reply.
- It does not qualify or rate contacts. No entry in the timeline changes qualification on its own.
- It does not merge people. Two Instagram accounts are two contacts, even when the handles look similar.
- It does not import history from before you installed the extension, and it does not fill gaps from outside your browser session.
Common questions
- Two things happened at the same time. Which entry shows first?
- Sub-minute ordering is not meaningful. Treat entries that share a moment as one moment rather than as a sequence.
- I replied in the Instagram app, but the timeline does not show it.
- Reply detection reads the thread from your signed-in browser session. If the thread was never opened there, or the page structure changed, the reply may not have been read. Open the thread in Instagram, then check the contact again.
- Why is there no DM sent entry even though I started a send?
- Only a confirmed send becomes a fact. A blocked, failed or unresolved attempt is not a delivered message, so no DM sent entry is written. See Sent, blocked, unknown and Needs Review explained.
- Can I delete an entry?
- No. The ledger is an append-only record. If an outcome was wrong, record the correct outcome — that adds its own Outcome updated entry instead of erasing history.
